Jacob Bronowski: the complex life of a science popularizer
He is best known for developing a humanistic approach to science, and as the presenter and writer of the thirteen-part BBC television documentary series, and accompanying book, The Ascent of Man , which led to his regard as "one of the world's most celebrated intellectuals". Bronowski's family moved to Germany and then to England while he was a child. In England, he won a scholarship to study mathematics at the University of Cambridge.

I remember as a child seeing this series as VHS tapes on the library shelves. As this was in the days before VCRs became commonplace, I never took these tapes off the shelf. Bronowski was an extraordinary human being.
